Pink Floyd - Animals Album

ALBUM REVIEW
Pink Floyd’s Animals album is superlative both lyrically and musically, though it is one of the band’s most underappreciated gems. In the album, humans are represented by animals (as in George Orwell’s “Animal Farm”), and come under criticism for their hypocrisy (“Pigs”); greed (“Dogs”); and complacency (“Sheep”). It is pretty clear that Waters was outraged by the crumbling society and moral decay he saw all around him and was able to innovatively incorporate his ire into another ethereal Pink Floyd album. His lyrics may be angry and dark, but he had a much needed point to prove. This is an album that merits repeated listens to get everything he was trying to say.
