Meat Loaf - Bat Out of Hell Album

With its sense of rock and roll as Broadway theater, the Bat Out of Hell album made Meat Loaf a star. This album is best when it soars to new heights that few have dared climb. What is operatic in nature is juxtaposed with pure teenage testosterone and sexual content, as "Bat Out of Hell" combined genres with ease. There is not a bad track on this album. Highlights are the title track and "Paradise by the Dashboard Light." And although the album seems dated at times, with its over-the-top arrangements and evocative lyrics it still stands up to repeated listens.
