Simon and Garfunkel went out with a bang in the Bridge Over Troubled Water album, one of the most popular entertainments of its era. In it, you’ll find a mixture of lyrically perfect, sweeping epics like the title track and “The Boxer” interspersed with some less well-known, but all-the-same great shorter cuts like “So Long Frank Lloyd Wright” and “The Only Boy Living in New York,” where Paul Simon clearly reveals his displeasure at the duo’s split. And it really is too bad that this was their last album together because who knows what fantastic music they could have come up with next. This album was better than any of their post breakup solo efforts.
