The Brighter Than Creation’s Dark album is a masterpiece of southern rock and roll, with a variety of influences ranging from R&B to gothic. Imagine
Lynyrd Skynyrd,
Neil Young,
The Rolling Stones, and
Buffalo Springfield all wrapped up in one channeled for the 21st Century. Then you get somewhat of an idea what DBT offers. Some say this album has too many filler tracks, but don’t believe that for a minute--BTCD is a great album with imaginative, creative lyrics, and a powerful flow that captures your attention for all 19 songs. Some early highlights are: A Ghost to Most, The Rightous Path, and Perfect Timing. And, if you were wondering, the departure of Jason Isbell has hardly made a difference. DBT still rocks!
