Kiss - Destroyer Album

ALBUM REVIEW
With the 1976 Destroyer album, Kiss shed its menacing image and hard edge in order to attract a larger fan base and it largely succeeded. Love ballads like “Beth,” a tribute to Peter Cross’s wife, pepper the disc with melodies that are both pleasing and beautiful. With tunes like “Detroit Rock City” and “Shout It Out Loud,” the band still offers its share of arena rock to keep the diehard original fans happy. Even though the band went on to mega-platinum success on subsequent albums, Kiss never wrote anything to match the material from this album. This album is arguably the most accessible Kiss album for public consumption, even though those devoted to the early Kiss sound may be disappointed.
