The Police - Ghost in the Machine Album

With their second to last studio effort, the Ghost in the Machine album, the Police moved more towards political and social consciousness, emphasizing the human spirit and soul over soulless corporate, political and technological machinery--hence Ghost In The Machine. However, you can still detect the prelude to "Synchronicity" in fast and furious songs like "Rehumanize Yourself" and "Omegaman.” Other outstanding songs off the album (and big radio hits in the U.S. as well) include "Spirits In The Material World" which depicts the moral and spiritual crisis in the world, and “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic,” as catchy a pop tune as they come.
