Paul Simon - Graceland Album

Paul Simon’s Graceland album is one of the most intriguing not to mention commercially successful releases of the 1980s. It reflects Paul Simon’s talent at blending his trademark personal lyrics with the culture and rhythms of South Africa. Ladysmith Black Mambazo adds inspiring vocals to the beautiful "Diamonds On The Soles Of Her Shoes" while adding a plaintive, sorrowful sound to "Homeless". Linda Ronstadt supplies an excellent harmony on "Under African Skies" while Los Lobos assists on the album’s closer "All Around The World". "You Can Call Me Al" had a very funny video with Chevy Chase, but besides having a great video, the song is as buoyant and catchy as anything Simon has ever recorded.
