Quicksilver Messenger Service - Happy Trails Album

The Happy Trails album represents the glory years of what became known as the San Francisco sound. Though Quicksilver Messenger Service wasn’t one of the better known of the Bay area bands in the 1960s, they deserve more of a following than they got and this album is one reason why. Happy Trails," recorded at the Fillmores East and West and released in 1969, contains the band's very finest live performances and the music sounds fresh and exuberant even after more than thirty years. Highlights include a stirring rendition of Bo Diddley’s “Who Do You Love” and the fun, campy version of the Roy Rogers/Dale Evans theme song, "Happy Trails." This disc is a definite must-have.
