Neil Young - Harvest Album

ALBUM REVIEW
A departure into Nashville country, the Harvest album was a number one hit when it was released in 1972. Certainly, this stems from the fact that Neil Young stands alone as a late 60s icon, who has consistently done the music his way, and with great honesty, consistent authenticity, and a singular verve. No one has produced the variety and quantity of memorable tunes and melodies, as has Young, who has always created what he wants on his terms, and has never sold out to commercialism or tried to appeal to the mainstream audience. Fans, however, will note that his smash hit, “Heart of Gold” shows that he can go commercial if he wants to. He just chooses not to cave in.
