Marvin Gaye - Here, My Dear Album

Marvin Gaye’s Here, My Dear album is the result of a court order that required the Motown great to turn over the profits of two albums to the first wife that he had left. As one would imagine, the album that came out reflects Gaye’s bitterness and bewilderment about the legal system. All of the songs are fantastic and they are expertly woven together. From the despair of the central track, “When Did You Stop Loving Me, When Did I Stop Loving You," to the intense "Anger" and the lovely, lifting "Sparrow," Gaye lets his guard down and beautifully tells us of his wounded heart. This is a haunting work that will stay with you long after the disc has stopped playing.
