Eagles - Hotel California Album

Addressing the theme of California as a place where moral decay rules, the “Hotel California” album may be The Eagles most solid single disc. Highlights include the title track, a classic with a lyric that remains embedded in the cultural consciousness (“You can check out any time you want, but you can never leave.”) and “Life in the Fast Lane,” a tribute to the hedonistic Los Angeles lifestyle. There are also some nice softer ballads like “New Kid in Town” and “Wasted Time.” Like many other residents in the state, the band are not native Californians. Despite that fact, they have become synonymous with the Lost Paradise that is Southern California. The Hotel California album is for everyone that every dreamed of living there.
