David Bowie - Hunky Dory Album

ALBUM REVIEW
The precursor to Bowie’s landmark album, Ziggy Stardust, the Hunky Dory album shows Bowie going in some of the same directions of the latter disc. Bowie camps it up with a mixture of cabaret piano, flirty lyrics and soaring vocals. “Changes" is probably the most polished pop song ever recorded, and even though it didn't make the top 40 in America, it's still one of Bowie's most memorable songs. “Andy Warhol" is a gentle folk rocker with twisted lyrics and a hilarious spoken intro. “Queen Bitch" is a great glam rocker, its lyrics attacking phoniness. All in all, this was the calm before the Ziggy storm, but it holds up quite well as a pop album in its own right.
