The If You’re Going Through Hell album is a straight from the heart and very down to earth gift from Rodney Atkins. He has been called everything from a “poetic craftsman” to an out and out “redneck,” but at its soul, this album is about pure country music at its simplest and most direct. Maybe you have to live in the South to appreciate this kind of good music—it doesn’t rely on curse words or other inappropriate language to bring its message home—and that is a good thing for listeners everywhere.
