Radiohead - In Rainbows Album

Despite all the fuss about how it was sold, Radiohead's In Rainbows album turns out to be one of the group's most enjoyable efforts to date, made even more inviting by its straight ahead, low-key rock approach. They lose some of the trappings of their anxiety-infused past work, in favor of warmer, more intimate melodies and traditional instrumentation. It opens on an angular note with "15 Steps," which eases listeners into new acoustic sound, rather than just dumping it on us. "Bodysnatchers" is an intense rocker full of bulky riffs and softly ringing guitars. It's a beautiful cut on gorgeous album-- I never thought I would use that word to describe a Radiohead disc. What a pleasant surprise.
