James Brown - In the Jungle Groove Album

When it comes to the overall groove and jazzed out funk vibe of James Brown, there's nothing better than the In the Jungle Groove album. Like vultures, a busload of other hip-hop and dance producers have picked this album cleaner than an animal carcass. The music begs to be sampled; it became the aural semantics that shaped the train of thought that hip-hop spray-painted and rode to popularity. And given a loud stereo and someone to share the moment with, it's great for dancing to. I can't recommend a CD more than this one for the pure funk aficionado. The Godfather may be gone, but his music will live on for all eternity.
