ALBUM REVIEW
1973’s “Innervisions” album is one of Stevie Wonder’s best as it fuses the singer/songwriter’s ability to write catchy, irresistible pop numbers with his capacity to improvise in a free form manner. Every song has a message, but one that is quite easy and enjoyable to swallow. From “Living for the City,” which addresses the problems African-Americans faced on the city streets in the 70s, to “All Is Fair in Love,” a tender ballad about heartbreak; the tunes on the Innervisions album are instant classics that will never go out of style. Innervisions was released about seven months after Talking Book and rarely has an artist put out two masterworks in such a short period of time. Wonder is a pure genius.
