The Strokes - Is This It Album

There was a lot of hype surrounding the release of the Is This It album, but thankfully this debut album from the New York bread Strokes lives up to all expectations. It is one of rock’s most energetic and exciting debut albums and takes on the typical issues of sex, drugs and rock and roll with verve and abandon. This is a pure New York City band composed of members from the hoity toity Upper East Side who were not afraid to mix it up with their Downtown pals.Their sound is bubbly and stimulating regardless of the volume at which it is heard and the lyrics are deceptively simple. This is a definite keeper.
