ALBUM REVIEW
The L.A. Woman album was The Doors final effort with Jim Morrison (who died in a bathtub in Paris, while it was still high on the charts). While most bands start out with the blues and evolve away from it to their own signature sound, the Doors evolved into becoming a fine blues rock band. An album about the underbelly of life in Los Angeles in the 1970s, it’s all about living day-to-day, strung-out, alone, not knowing when it will all end. In that sense, I take "LA Woman" to be sort of like a diary in the lives of Jim and (his wife) Pam. The closing track, “Riders on a Storm” seems to acknowledge that the end is coming soon, a prescient thought in Morrison’s case
