B.B. King’s Live at the Regal album is one of the best live blues album ever recorded. Here is B.B., singing in his adopted home (Chicago) with such a force and presence that sparks are practically flying off the stage. And B.B’s trademark single-note guitar lines are sharp and steely, matching his voice with trembling vitality. He offers early hits like "How Blue Can You Get," "Worry, Worry," and "You Upset Me Baby" in his own inimitable blues style and the crowd is so into it that their shout outs are somewhat distracting. Still, I’m sure B.B. wouldn’t have had it any other way. He is as close to a blues God as they come and this is an essential album for any music collection.
