The Velvet Underground - Loaded Album

The Velvet Underground’s Loaded album is nearly a lost classic of the rock genre that deserved much more respect from the record-buying public than it got. Lou Reed penned some of the absolute best rock songs ever written on this album including the oft-covered classic "Sweet Jane" and the equally touching "Rock and Roll." Those two songs highlight the album, along with the lengthy, mournful closer "Oh Sweet Nothin." Lou Reed began a long and sporadic solo career after the group recorded this album, which is a shame because they really jelled on this release. Who knows what great things they would have come up with had he stuck with the band?
