The Clash - London Calling Album

Combining political commentary in a package that is equal parts rockabilly, reggae and ska, the Clash's "London Calling" album was truly a watershed when it was released in 1979. The disc knocked down musical walls, ending the debate over the viability of punk as a musical genre in the United States. This is one of those rare records that never lets up from beginning to end and is truly packed with some of the Clash's greatest songs. Highlights include their cover of "Brand New Cadillac" which is just smoking rockabilly and "Rudie Can't Fail," irresistible reggae rock. But you simply can't go wrong with any of the tracks on the London Calling album.
