Bob Dylan - Love and Theft Album

ALBUM REVIEW
When the Love and Theft album first came out in 2001, it was critically praised as one of the iconic singer/songwriter’s most focused work in ten years. I tend to agree—Dylan’s word play continues to be pure genius, while musically he experiments with a range of styles from rock to swing. “Mississippi” would be my favorite song here, with Dylan's elongated delivery of unbelievably great lyrics bringing to mind classic songs such as “Tangled Up in Blue.” If energetic, toe-tapping rockers are more your style, Dylan doesn’t disappoint with “Lonesome Day Blues.” “Summer Days” is also quite unique, combining verifiable swing music with a strong pinch of rockabilly. But you really can’t go wrong with any of the cuts. They are brilliance through and through.
