Television - Marquee Moon Album

Though it is an acquired taste, the Marquee Moon album is simply one of the ten best hipster discs ever recorded. Every tune on Television’s disc is passionate, explorative and adept at creating a unique place for itself. The cadence of the guitar lines in “Venus De Milo” are so beautiful, they will send chills up your spine. In the crescendo of the title track, Verlaine’s guitar sounds like a flock of sea gulls. Elevation is tight, edgy, and oozing with as much mood as a song can possibly be made to hold. So sit in a comfy chair, relax, and open your mind to all of the swirls of passion and subtlety, creating a new color you can’t quite name.
