Linkin Park - Minutes to Midnight Album

The Minutes to Midnight album paints Linkin Park as the hardest rockers with the softest hearts around and stands as one of their most unique musical achievements. However, if you’re looking for the same brand of rap/rock/electronica you heard on their previous two albums, you’d be lost. There are a lot of soft ballads on this one and Chester’s vocals are pretty good, while Shinoda’s rapping is kept to a minimum. This album is more of an acquired taste—you have to listen to it a few times to get the full impact. Standouts are “What I’ve Done,” which has received the most airplay and is most reminiscent of LP’s work on its previous albums and “Valentine’s Day,” a ballad about being alone on…you guessed it.
