Otis Redding - Otis Blue Album

ALBUM REVIEW
The Otis Blue album features Otis Redding at the top of his raw, unpolished soul powers. This album was originally made in the 60s when most long players were just a series of collected singles. But Otis Blue makes sense as a whole album. From the crisp stomp of "Respect" and the Stones' "Satisfaction" to the poignant pop of the Temps "My Girl" and Sam Cooke’s "Wonderful World" (not forgetting, of course, the heart- wrenching sorrow of "Ole Man Trouble" and "I've Been Loving You Too Long,”), there is absolutely no filler here. Otis’ voice is simply incredible and his backing band Booker T and the MG’s couldn’t be better. This is a soul essential for any music collector.
