Blondie - Parallel Lines Album

Under the tutelage of veteran producer Mike Chapman, the Parallel Lines album established Blondie as major superstars. Blondie was bred in the New York punk scene, but Chapman steered them toward the power pop side of new wave with great results. Deborah Harry’s enticing vocals and Clem Burke’s strident drumming lead the way on the punk-meets-disco chart topper “Heart of Glass” and the equally infectious “One Way or Another.” Most of the tracks are also catchy and memorable with driving rhythms. and a mix of synthesizers and traditional drums-bass-guitar that would essentially define the entire "new wave" genre. Blondie set the new wave standard for almost ten years and with good reason. This album is tremendous.
