Jesus And Mary Chain - Psychocandy Album

The Psychocandy album is a classic of the alternative genre, taking rock music to places it had never been before. Taking its inspiration from groups like The Velvet Underground and perhaps also The Cure, The J&M Chain made feedback and distortion and vital part of their wall of sound, creating an original and distinctive niche in rock music. The distortion never sounded out of place or subverted the detached vocals and actually it made for an eerily beautiful sound that was unmatched by other industrial bands... My favorite tracks on this seminal album include “Just Like Honey,” “The Living End,” “The Hardest Walk,” and the hypnotic, “You Trip Me Up,” a touching blend of the tender and the menacing.
