The Who - Quadrophenia Album

The combination of strong songwriting and adept composition makes The Who’s Quadrophenia album, one of the band’s crowning achievements. Though not as accessible as Tommy, this rock opera lays down some superb tracks including the stunning “Love, Reign O’ver Me,” the cynical “Punk Meets the Godfather” and the enraged “Real Me,” all courtesy of Pete Townshend’s stellar songwriting skills. It also doesn’t hurt that The Who managed to use synthesizers as they were originally intended to be used, making for one of the landmark albums in rock and roll history. Despite its rocky road to release, Quadrophenia still stands the test of time.
