Although he was just a teenager when he recorded the Radio album, LL Cool J raps with bravado and authority on the disc and there’s no denying his vocal presence even at this young age. The best thing about this album is that it does not feature the grandiose production efforts of most of today’s hip hop acts. Its minimalism allows LL’s voice shine through and lets him loose to do his thing. Whether he's putting on his lover boy persona ("I Can Give You More," "I Want You") or delivering his signature kiss-offs ("Dear Yvette," "That's A Lie"), LL's undeniable charisma shines through brighter on Radio than anywhere else.
