Run-DMC - Run-DMC Album

The Run-DMC album is one of those rare debut discs that started a musical revolution and still stands the test of time. We all know that Run-D.M.C. didn't originate hip-hop music, but they did completely reinvent it. In the early 80s, hip-hop was all about the joyous partying, and that definitely wasn't the theme on the duo's groundbreaking Run DMC album. Run introduced the hard rock attitude to hip hop, in the process changing the way hip hop would be perceived forever. Tunes like “Rock Box” and “Wake Up” were raw, rough and tough, and hit much harder than anything that had come before it. Run DMC can truly be called the Beatles of hip hop.
