Shakira - Shakira MTV Unplugged Album

The "Shakira MTV Unplugged" album is a great acoustical treat from an artist who has since become an international superstar. The songs mainly speak of love, hardships and betrayal but some of the tunes also indulge into give-and-take politically-themed articulation. "Octavo Dia" is one of my favorites, as it revolves around issues we can all relate to like questioning authority. I also enjoyed the way the CD mixes Latin and Asian vibes with pop and rock. It creates a rich and varied sound, and it outshines today's marketed pop standards. It's one of Shakira's best albums.
