Wilco - Sky Blue Sky Album

In the Sky Blue Sky album, Wilco goes back to its gentle Americana roots, creating a mood that is both mellow and reassuring. In its 6th album, the band finally seems to feel at ease in its own skin and has outgrown the petulance of adolescence. The album has a sort of 70s southern California feel to it with nice harmonies and great guitar work. Part John Lennon, part Eagles, and part Pink Floyd, the result is an all together beautiful album. Jeff Tweedy is definitely in a John Lennon phase, and his voice is as good here as it was on YHF. Highlights include “Either Way,” the first track and “On And On And On” the last track.
