Jefferson Airplane - Surrealistic Pillow Album

The Surrealistic Pillow album virtually defined the counterculture during the hippies’ Summer of Love in 1967. Emerging talent, Grace Slick brought two songs from her previous band to Jefferson Airplane—“White Rabbit” and “Somebody to Love”-- and they became instant Top Ten hits. But the rest of the album also pulses with the nervous energy of the sixties, making introspective and controversial excursions into intimacy with songs like "Today" and "Coming Back To Me". It seemed that all of the band members—Balin and Kantor on vocals, Jorma Kaukonen on guitar, Jack Casady on bass and Spencer Dryden on drums—just jelled to create a wonderfully psychedelic trip of an album.
