Carole King - Tapestry Album

ALBUM REVIEW
Carole King had carved out a niche for herself as a writer for girl groups in the sixties, when she released the “Tapestry” album in 1971 and became a household name. From “It’s Too Late Baby Now” to “I Feel the Earth Move” King covers all the ground of a sturdy, post-liberated female. She is also a woman who is not afraid to express her true feelings as evinced by the singe, “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow.” Although she is strong, there is also something very vulnerable about King, which is why the Tapestry album is so accessible. And, for all the social changes since this album was released, there is still a nostalgic pleasure gained from listening again to beautiful words set perfectly to music.
