Pearl Jam - Ten Album

The Ten album was grunge band Pearl Jam's debut and perhaps most accessible and least self-conscious in-your-head and in-your-face disc. Later, Pearl Jam would get a reputation for being haughty by refusing to prostitute themselves to appear on MTV, but when this album came out there was a stampede toward the Seattle band that completed the triumvirate completed by Nirvana and Soundgarden, Successive albums would be more complex, both lyrically and musically, but there was nothing like Ten for growling Eddie Vedder vocals and driving guitars and for making Seattle the center of the grunge universe. Ten is a brilliant rock album and made PJ deservedly superstars.
