The Bedlam in Goliath album features The Mars Volta going back to their progressive rock roots and going all out to prove that they are the hardest working prog band in show business. There’s a lot more rock and a lot less avant guard experimentation here, so that should please fans considerably. At the heart of it, while the guitars blare the lyrics are much more understandable than on any other album. Although there are some obscure lyrics that you'll have to look up, compared to previous releases, TBiG is a breeze. Standout tracks like '”Ouroborous'” and “Wax Simulacra” will rock you to the core.
