Buddy Holly & The Crickets - The "Chirping" Crickets Album

Prior to the Chirping Crickets album, most rock and roll discs had two hits and ten fillers on them. Buddy Holly and friends managed to change all that and create something really special—an album with several chart toppers. It’s amazing how much Holly crammed into such a brief career and a lot of it is on this album. Songs like “Oh Boy!," "Not Fade Away," "Maybe Baby," and "Tell Me How" are all testimony to Holly’s greatness as a guitarist and singer, while "That'll Be the Day" and "I'm Lookin' for Someone to Love" reveal that he was a great songwriter as well. Holly captured teenage angst beautifully on this album, which is one of the classics of the rock era.
