Bruce Springsteen - The River Album

ALBUM REVIEW
The River album was Springsteen’s most accessible disc to date and peaked at number one on the charts. It broke the Boss into the commercial big leagues with “Hungry Heart”, his classic song of dissatisfaction and yearning. However, this album had a lot more to recommend itself to early Springsteen fans as well, including frat rock ("Sherry Darling"), ambitious character studies ("The River," "Stolen Car," "Independence Day"), searing rockers ("Out in the Street") and theatrical ballads ("Point Blank"), as well as a couple of good-natured goofs ("Cadillac Ranch," "Crush on You," "Ramrod"). This album proved that although he was already a rock icon, The Boss never stopped evolving.
