Just about every major hit Linda Ronstadt ever recorded is on The Very Best of Linda Ronstadt album. Ronstadt emerged from the 1970s southern California country folk scene as the top female rocker of the “Me Generation” and her performance on these tunes is totally brilliant. My person favorites are the hypnotically-beautiful "Ooh Baby Baby" and the up-tempo hits "When Will I Be Loved," "That'll Be The Day," and the #1 "You're No Good." Of course, the duets with Aaron Neville are entrancing and were much deserved comebacks for both entertainers. Ronstadt has been much criticized for tendency to rely on remakes, but you have to admit that she still remains as distinctive a female singer as we have ever had.
