Tragic Kingdom Album Review
No Doubt's 1995 Tragic Kingdom album elevated the group from the Southern California ska scene to the national stage as they introduced an irresistible blend of reggae, punk and power pop. As you will recall, the group featured a young Gwen Stefani who, even at that age, had a strong, powerful voice that would later make her a star. Some highlights include Spiderwebs" a punky piece of ear candy and the punk/pop anthem "Just A Girl." Other stand-outs are the poppy, yet anger-filled "Happy Now," the soaring "Climb" and my favorite song, the title track "Tragic Kingdom" which is a complete mind blower to listen to. This is a great disc to blast while you're driving in your car.
