Jefferson Airplane - Volunteers Album

The Volunteers album is Jefferson Airplane at its peak, playing n California at the end of the 60s while the Vietnam War raged on and Haight Ashbury was beginning to come apart. It wouldn’t be long before the band itself with implode due to internal arguments, but for one brief, shining moment there was this album;, Kantner's writing -which predominates here- has achieved a new depth; Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Cassady feed off each other as one -which is no surprise given that Hot Tuna will be next for both of them- and Slick and Balin sing their hearts out. If there is one Jefferson Airplane album that you listen to, this should be it.
