U2 - War Album

ALBUM REVIEW
The War album is a compelling and eclectic disc that rounds out U2’s early period before they achieved iconic status. War is devoted to tearing down false idols propped up by political parties.”Sunday Bloody Sunday" and "40" take on the subject of Ireland’s political troubles, while "New Year's Day” is ostensibly about a broken love relationship, but is symbolic of a greater division. War was U2’s break out disc in America and it was their first top twenty album here. Afterword, they shifted away from making another album this political, but War's spirit still continues to suffuse their work.
