Carl Douglas is a Jamaican singer who came to fame in 1974 during the disco movement. In 1974 Douglas released his most famous track, “Kung Fu Fighting,” which became known as one of the greatest disco songs of all time. The comical song pays homage to the martial arts films of the 60’s and 70’s. The song became famous for the Oriental Riff it uses to represent the Asian culture. Although Douglas did not have much success after “Kung Fu Fighting,” phizzled away, the song has come to make Douglas known as one o f the greatest One Hit Wonders of all time.
