Survivor is an American Rock band started by members Jim Peterik and Frankie Sullivan in 1977. The band hit big within the 80’s when their single “Eye of the Tiger,” was featured in the blockbuster hit Rocky I. “Eye of the Tiger” was released in 1982 and topped the Billboard Hot 100 for more than six weeks during the summer of 1982. The song was requested by Sly Stallone to feature tiger growls and sound effects. “Eye of the Tiger” reached number one success in the UK, Ireland, and Australia and was nominated for both a Grammy Award and Academy Award.
