Sonny Rollins is one of the great tenor saxophonists in jazz. “Valse Hot” features the late great Clifford Brown jumping right into a tour de force, soon joined by Rollins, who wrote the song. Rollins makes a waltz feel like you're dancing through the clouds, climbing and reaching with every note. This is a great bebop and it’s a shame Brown had to die so young.
