Moon River MP3 - EZ-Tracks™ Editorial Review:
Henry Mancini is a famous American composer in the 60’s. Mancini has composed many successful songs and scores for movies such as Breakfast at Tiffany’s . In the movie it was made famous by Audrey Hepburn’s rendition and has been covered by many artists. In 1961 the well known pop singer, Andy Williams, recorded the song for his variety show and used it as his theme song. Also that year “Moon River” won that year’s Academy Award for Best Original Song. Hepburn particularly loved the song and defended it to the deaths when Paramount Pictures Executives tried to cut the song from the movie. The song was later seen on the album Music from the Films of Audrey Hepburn after the famed actress passed away.

Other Songs that people are thinking about:
"a few months ago, I was riding shotgun on a road trip from Eau Claire Wisconsin to Atlanta Georgia. The weather was overcast, the mood was dreary and the road was long. But all of that changed when a song came on the radio that I immediately recognized as "The Old Rugged Cross", a rousing hymn my mom used to sing. but it was being played in a manner I had never heard before. It was an instrumental. The musicians were using a number of horns, actually sounding to me like a small but inspired jam session. The song itself was definitely old time Gospel that my mother sang, but I believe the style would be considered Jazz. The total sound made me think I was on Bourbon Street in New Orleans and in my grandma's old southern Baptist church at the same time. I said to my driver, "My mom would love this music." As the music continued over the next two or three minutes, a combination of events began to create an energy that became extremely spiritual. First an 18-wheeler pulled smoothly into our lane, very close in front of us but not close enough to scare us. The name, "Mary Kay", was painted in large pink letters on the back of the cosmetic company's truck. "Merry Kay" is what my dad often called me before he died last year. That caught my attention. Almost immediately a huge white cross began to emerge over the top of the hill, to the left of the highway. The cross towered high over the church beside it, and commanded every driver's full attention as they topped the hill. Intensely awesome.. Without a hitch, another truck pulled up on the right side of our vehicle, moving ahead of us just enough so that, as I turned my head towards the sound of the truck, the bible verse on the side was right in front of my eyes: "Numbers 6:24-26" "The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face to shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee; The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace." By now I knew something important was happening. My attention was drawn just above us to the only visible square of dreary gray sky showing. The frame around the sky was created by the cross on the left, the Mary Kay truck just ahead, the bible truck on the right and our car behind and between.. Suddenly, the small patch simply opened up and dropped sunshine all over everything: The cross, the trucks, and our car, bathed in Light. It was spectacular! My chest was filled with such a rush of unexpected Love that I could barely breathe. Finally I had a sense of my mom, who had died years earlier, and my dad, who had died months earlier, side by side, slightly above and to the left of the visible square of sky. It seemed my mom wasn't really interested in being where my dad was (that was true in real life too). Apparently they were only together momentarily to give me this gift. The moment passed. The trucks moved on and the song ended. I sat back, deeply moved, silent with the awe of it all. Minutes later, my driver said quietly, "I'm glad that your parents greeted you like that." It wasn't my imagination. Both of us had been aware of the same energy! That's why I want to own a copy of that music. It was absolutely the most uplifting rendition of The Old Rugged Cross that I've ever heard. The recording triggered a spiritual event around our car that day and naturally I want to hear the music again and again. When I read your Gospel Jazz review, I got excited: That exactly describes the recording on the radio that day. It drew me to the energy of Christ. I didn't know such a genre existed. I'm really hoping you can tell me who the artist(s) might be. " ...Anonymous; 09-29-07
