The You Can’t Count on Me is an excellent first cut from the Crows’ upcoming album, Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings and it is the Crows at their best. Supremely melodious with lyrics that rank with some of Adam Duritz’s best, not to mention a beautiful arrangement, this tune should satisfy the cravings of most Crows fans. It was well worth the wait!

Some say that You Can’t Count on Me was an unusual choice for a first single since it is more soft and low key than other Crows tunes and doesn’t have that classic Crows’ rocking style. But I think it shows that the band is not one dimensional and can modify their sound to fit the requirements of a tune. I would say it's somewhere right in between their work on August & Everything After and Recovering the Satellites, which is great because those are my two favorite albums.
