Ludo’s latest album opens with the infectious Love Me Dead mp3 which is about the singer both loving and hating the woman he’s dating. The painfully honest lyrics are hilarious and the music accompanying it is just great. What sets this band apart is their great sense of humor and embrace of wackiness, not only in their lyrics but in their actual performances as well (if you are lucky enough to catch them).

Overall Ludo’s album ‘You’re Awful, I Love You’ is strange stuff indeed, but a pleasure to spin on the CD player. Even when they are singing semi-“normal” tunes you can’t help but be swept up in their fantastical aura and downright weirdness. Hopefully, they’ll put out many more albums for Island Records with the same qualities regardless of how popular they become.
