The Wait for the Summer mp3 starts out like a classic pop tune with a dreamy Beatles-like sound, and then segues into chanting vocals and what I can only guess is an Indian sitar, backed by tremendous synths. Yeasayer’s music is such a disarming blend of genres ranging from folk to indie electronic that it’s almost indescribable. But you know when you hear it that it’s something special.

Yeasayer is most reminiscent of Radiohead with each song containing all sorts of elements, instruments and effects that somehow grow into a cohesive story. They are so talented it’s unbelievable that they weren’t discovered earlier. I expect their debut album to be a big success.
