The Damaged mp3 showcases the girls’ always fine vocals combined with mature, poignant lyrics that many detractors probably thought the girls, with their flare for up-tempo sugary pop, would be unlikely to tackle. It was a great choice of a first single for the girls, who definitely had something to prove.

After the release of their debut album there were rumors that the girls were bickering and would not be able to hold it together for a second album. All those naysayers were wrong. Danity Kane may have had their problems, but it’s arguable that they may just be the successors to the girl group throne vacated by Destiny’s Child.
